DEVICE POLARIS HP M
Polaris HP M is a device that allows deep penetration of tissues for the treatment of problematic areas affected by pathological changes. The built-in laser source operates in continuous or pulse mode (also superpulse), which limits the thermal effect, and its maximum power is 8W.
The effectiveness of treatments carried out by Polaris HP M results from the use of a high power source with one wavelength. The above action mechanism allows to obtain a thermal effect at the site of application, which does not occur in the case of low level laser therapy. Thanks to the specially developed and patented DILA (Deep Intratissue Laser Adapter) focusing adapter, it is also possible to treat deep skin disorders.
The use of a high power laser in physiotherapy is a relatively young field, but so far its positive effects have been recognized, among others in dermatology, orthopedics, general medicine, neurology, dentistry, aesthetic medicine, oncology and ENT.
To maximize the potential of laser therapy, ASTAR has created and patented a special focusing DILA adapter (Deep Intratissue Laser Adapter). This advanced optical system allows the formation of a laser beam in a way that compensates for power losses in surface tissues and reduces the occurrence of a thermal effect on the skin and subcutaneous tissue, allowing precise determination of the location of the area requiring treatment.

The high power laser is ideal for patients who are struggling with intense, chronic pain. According to the research, the laser avoids the need for surgical treatment for many bothersome bone and soft tissue disorders. Specialists in the field of sports medicine, physiotherapists who care for patients after injuries and tendons or bones damages, use this type of therapy because of its effectiveness in relieving pain and its causes.
Importantly, treatments using laser radiation are fully non-invasive. High power laser therapy is a rescue for patients suffering from chronic musculoskeletal disorders, painful inflammation of nerves and tendons, and joint degeneration. The high power laser therapy is also very popular among aesthetic medicine patients. Based on reports and scientific research, a very positive effect of high power laser therapy on fibrous cellulite has been proven. After only 12 treatments, the treated tissue is firmer, smoother, and its volume is clearly smaller.
In aesthetic medicine clinics, currently lasers are used, among others, for removing hyperpigmentation, closing capillaries, removing erythema, removing of tattoos and permanent makeup, as well as performing non-surgical and non-invasive facelift treatments.

The aplication of the high power laser Polaris HP M unit with a wavelength of 808 nm allows to obtain a biostimulation effect and to increase the temperature of the treated area. The laser affects, among others on increased microcirculation, it stimulates angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels), the DNA synthesis, it increases oxygen circulation and activates the phagocytosis (a natural system of protection against pathogens).
Laser therapy also increases the activity of fibroblasts, which have a significant impact on the healing of connective tissue, also they produce collagen, intercellular essence fibers and basal proteoglycans (included in the connective tissue). The above features make high power laser therapy possible to treat diseases located almost all over the body.
It has anti-edema and anti-inflammatory effects, and significantly accelerates the process of tissue regeneration, of wounds and ulcers healing, constituting an effective method of eliminating chronic and acute pain. In addition, the use of large doses of energy allows for more intensive therapy (in doses up to 50 J / cm2), which significantly reduces the duration of the treatment.

The high power laser therapy device is equipped with the self-test procedure allowing for automatic control of the device’s efficiency. Polaris HP M also has the ability to automatically test the power of laser radiation, so the user of the device can be sure that the device is always fully functional and the treatments carried out meet safety standards.
Polaris HP M is not only high power laser therapy unit but it has also the possibility of conducting biostimulation (low level laser) therapy treatments using all low-power applicators available in the ASTAR offer. Therefore, the device offers a wide range of therapeutic options, allowing the use of point probes, a scanning laser applicator or a cluster laser applicator (shower applicator).
Thanks to the modern design of the HP probe, the replacement of adapters is quick and convenient. The possibility of conducting both high power laser therapy and biostimulation therapy makes the Polaris HP M a universal therapy device for physiotherapy centers.

The operation of the device is completely intuitive. The user can use the 227 built-in programs and the encyclopaedia of therapeutic treatments displayed on a 7-inch colour display with a touch panel or create and save own 250 user-defined treatment programs.
By using the treatment sequences, the user gains the opportunity to create a treatment sequence consisting of several different pre-defined and/or the user’s programs.
It is also possible to manually enter power, frequency and duty factor parameters when the device is in manual mode.
To facilitate the operation of the device and make changes to treatment parameters, the Polaris HP M has a handy knob. Polaris HP M allows to control statistics of the performed treatments and to create lists of favourite programs for single applicators.

One of the most modern physiotherapy areas – high power laser therapy – uses laser radiation for medical purposes. This method is recognized by specialists due to its exceptional effectiveness in the therapy of even very intense and acute pain.
